MM5450N LED Display Driver IC DIP40 The MM5450N LED Display Driver IC DIP40 is a robust monolithic metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) integrated circuit developed by National Semiconductor, utilizing N-channel metal-gate low-threshold enhancement mode and ion-implanted depletion mode devices. This driver is specifically engineered to interface with common anode-separate cathode LED displays, enabling efficient control of up to 34 segments or digits through a simple serial data protocol. Housed in a 40-pin dual-in-line package (DIP), it offers a compact and reliable solution for applications requiring alphanumeric or numeric display outputs, such as in microprocessors or COPS (Controller-Oriented Processor System) environments. The device’s design eliminates the need for a separate load signal, streamlining data transfer with just serial data and clock inputs, making it highly suitable for embedded systems where minimal interfacing is desired. Features: Continuous brightness control. Serial data input. No load signal required. Enable (on MM5450). Wide power supply operation. TTL compatibility. 34 or 35 outputs, 15 mA sink capability. Alphanumeric capability.
