LM2596S DC-DC Converter 3A Step Down Module The LM2596S step-down module is based on the monolithic integrated circuit family designed for 3 A continuous load current. It serves as a high-efficiency buck converter, taking a higher input DC voltage and converting it to a lower regulated output voltage using switch-mode technology with an internal 150 kHz oscillator. Thanks to its fixed-frequency switcher design, the module allows for smaller external inductors and capacitors compared to lower-frequency linear regulators.
