SEMIKRON SKKT 106/16E Thyristor Module 1.6KV 106A The SEMIKRON SKKT 106/16E is a dual-thyristor module in the compact SEMIPACK 1 housing, engineered for rugged industrial power conversion. Each module integrates two silicon‐controlled rectifiers (SCRs) on a common copper‐baseplate, isolated from the heatsink by an aluminium‐oxide (Al₂O₃) ceramic layer to ensure both high thermal conductivity and electrical insulation. Hard-soldered joints between the semiconductor chips and metal substrates provide excellent mechanical stability and long‐term reliability under repeated thermal cycling. The SKKT 106/16E is rated for a repetitive peak forward and reverse blocking voltage of 1 600 V and an average on-state current of 106 A at a case temperature of 80 °C. Its two SCRs share a common cathode connection but feature separate gate and anode terminals for independent control, enabling versatile bridge or dual-SCR configurations. The module’s top-mounted power terminals minimize stray inductance, while the gate pins on the front face allow easy access for trigger circuitry. The entire package is UL-recognized (file E 63 532) and designed for screw-mount attachment to standard heatsinks (5 Nm mounting torque), with terminal torque up to 3 Nm. With an operating junction temperature range from −40 °C to +130 °C, the SKKT 106/16E is suited to demanding environments such as traction drives, welding equipment, and industrial motor controls.
