Description

Flame Sensor Module The Flame Sensor Module 4 Pin is a compact and versatile sensor designed to detect open flames or other light sources emitting infrared (IR) radiation in the wavelength range of 700nm-1100nm. It is particularly sensitive to the IR spectrum produced by flames, making it ideal for fire detection applications. The module can also be used as a general IR detector for projects requiring broad-spectrum detection. It features both digital and analog outputs, allowing for flexible integration into microcontroller-based systems like Arduino or Raspberry Pi. Its adjustable sensitivity and compact design make it suitable for a wide range of applications, from fire alarms and safety systems to flame-detecting robots and educational prototypes. FEATURES : 4-Pin Interface: Includes VCC (power), GND (ground), DO (digital output), and AO (analog output) for easy integration. High Sensitivity: Detects flame or light sources with wavelengths between 700nm and 1100nm. Adjustable Sensitivity: Features a built-in potentiometer to set the detection range. Digital Output (DO): Normally LOW; goes HIGH when a flame is detected. Analog Output (AO): Provides a real-time voltage signal that drops when a flame is detected, allowing for precise measurement. Detection Range: Up to 100 cm (adjustable, depending on flame size). Detection Angle: Approximately 60 degrees, highly sensitive to flame spectrum. Operating Voltage: 3.3V – 5V. Low Power Consumption: Maximum current draw <7mA. LED Indicators: Includes a power LED and a signal detection LED for easy status monitoring. Comparator Chip: Uses LM393 for stable and reliable readings. Driving Ability: >15mA, ensuring compatibility with most microcontroller inputs. Compact Size: PCB dimensions approximately 3.2cm x 1.4cm. Fast Response Time: Provides quick and accurate detection. Module Connections : There is a 4-pin header on the assembly. GND / G = Ground ‘+’ = Vcc (3.3 – 5V) A0 = Analog output, connects to analog input on uC D0 = Digital output, connects to digital input on uC Specifications : Parameter Value Operating Voltage 3.3V – 5V Current Draw <7mA Detection Wavelength 700nm – 1100nm Detection Range Up to 100 cm (adjustable, depends on flame size) Detection Angle ~60 degrees Response Time Fast and accurate Output Types Digital (DO) and Analog (AO) PCB Dimensions 3.2cm x 1.4cm Driving Ability >15mA Comparator LM393 Applications : Fire Detection Systems: Ideal for early warning systems in homes, industries, or vehicles. Flame Alarms and Safety Equipment: Can be used in safety systems to detect flames and trigger alarms or shut off devices. Flame-Detecting Robots: Useful in robotics for fire-fighting or fire-detection applications. Gas Lighters and Ignition Systems: Can detect flames for safety in gas-based systems. Safety Systems: Can be integrated into devices to automatically cut off power or trigger alerts in case of fire. Monitoring Systems: Useful for continuous fire prevention monitoring in warehouses, labs, or other environments. Educational Projects: Great for prototyping and learning about sensor integration and fire detection. General IR Detection: Can be used in projects requiring detection of IR light sources beyond just flames.
