Description

MT87 Digital AC Clamp Meter The MT87 Digital AC Clamp Meter is a compact and practical measuring instrument for electrical maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting. It measures AC current by clamping around a single insulated conductor. Therefore, you can check current without cutting the wire or connecting the meter in series with the circuit. The clamp meter provides three AC current ranges: 20A, 200A, and 400A. In addition, the supplied test probes allow you to measure DC voltage up to 600V and AC voltage up to 450V. The meter can also test resistance, continuity, and diodes. MT87 Digital AC Clamp Meter Features 3½-digit LCD with approximately 2000 counts AC current measurement up to 400A Three AC current ranges: 20A, 200A, and 400A DC voltage measurement up to 600V AC voltage measurement up to 450V Resistance measurement up to 200kΩ Audible continuity testing Diode testing function Data Hold function Maximum reading hold Automatic polarity indication Over-range indication Low-battery indicator Compact and lightweight design Powered by two 1.5V AAA batteries Common Applications The MT87 Digital AC Clamp Meter is suitable for electricians, maintenance technicians, students, and DIY users. It can help test electrical panels, lighting circuits, appliances, power supplies, workshop equipment, and AC loads. Moreover, the compact body makes it easy to carry inside a toolbox. The rotary selector also provides quick access to the required measurement mode. Important Measurement Instructions For AC current measurement, clamp the meter around only one conductor. Do not clamp around both the live and neutral wires together because their magnetic fields cancel each other and produce an incorrect reading. The clamp section measures AC current only . It does not measure DC current through the clamp. However, the test probes can measure both AC and DC voltage. Always select the correct function and range before starting. Also, inspect the meter and probes for damage. Never exceed the specified measurement limits, and use extra caution when working on live electrical circuits.
