PT2221-001 Infrared Remote Control Transmitter IC SMD The PT2221-001 is a compact CMOS infrared remote-control encoder packaged in a 20-pin SO footprint, engineered for handheld consumer remote transmitters. It integrates a key-scan matrix and internal timing/encoding logic so multiple keypad inputs can be converted into serial IR code with minimal external circuitry. The small footprint and low standby current make it ideal for battery-powered handsets. Internally the PT2221 scans key inputs, encodes function/customer codes and provides the serial data stream suitable for IR LED drivers and transmitter front-ends. A dedicated SEL input enables extended code sets, allowing designers to double the available function codes without changing the basic hardware.
