Description

Reed Switch (Magnetic Switch) N.O 5x50mm A reed switch is a small electromechanical switch that opens or closes an electrical circuit in response to a magnetic field. This normally-open (N.O.) 5×50mm reed switch remains open (non-conducting) until a magnet (or coil) brings its internal contacts together, completing the circuit. Features Feature Details Contact form SPST (Single-pole, single-throw) — Normally Open (N.O.) Activation Magnetic-field activated; closes when exposed to a sufficient external magnet or coil Hermetic sealing Glass envelope, inert-gas filled — protects contacts from moisture, dust and corrosion Low idle power Zero holding power in idle (no power required to remain open) High reliability Long mechanical and electrical life with low contact wear Low contact resistance Typical initial contact resistance ≤150 mΩ (milliohms) Axial lead design 5×50 mm glass tube with axial tin-plated leads for easy through-hole mounting Wide temperature range Typical operating range −40 °C to +125 °C Specifications Specification Value Dimensions 5 mm × 50 mm (glass tube) Max switching voltage 300 V DC Max switching current 3.0 A Contact resistance ≤150 mΩ Operate time Few milliseconds Operating temperature −40 °C to +125 °C Applications Security Systems Home Appliances Automotive Industrial Control Consumer Electronics
