Description

Infrared LED Diode Transmitter 5mm – 940nm IR Emitter – Clear Lens This 5mm Infrared LED Diode Transmitter operates at a 940nm wavelength , making it perfect for IR remote control applications, IR communication, and object detection systems. Designed with a clear round lens and a narrow 30° viewing angle , it emits invisible IR light not visible to the naked eye but easily detected by IR receivers or your phone camera. It works just like a regular LED – apply voltage to the anode (longer lead) and connect the cathode (shorter lead) to ground. Add a series resistor to limit current, and you’re ready to go. This LED is ideal for: Building custom IR remotes Creating IR-based obstacle detectors or beam sensors Use with IR receiver modules for Arduino or other microcontrollers Note: Infrared light is not visible to the human eye. To verify operation, view the LED through a smartphone camera. 🟣 Key Features: Emitting Wavelength: 940nm (invisible IR light) Lens: 5mm, clear, round Forward Voltage: 1.2 – 1.5V Forward Current: 20mA (typical), 50mA (max pulsed) Viewing Angle: 30° 3.3V and 5V logic compatible Easy to use with Arduino and IR receiver modules 🟤 Specifications: Type: Single-color IR LED Wavelength: 940nm Diameter: 5mm Height: 8.5mm Lens: Clear / Transparent Viewing Angle: 30° Forward Voltage: 1.2 – 1.5V Forward Current: 20mA typical (50mA max) Polarity: Anode = Long Lead | Cathode = Short Lead Package: Through-hole, 2-lead plastic body Compatibility: Works with 3.3V or 5V microcontrollers
