BS 1362 is the British Standard number for cartridge fuse links used in UK plug tops. BS1362 fuses protect the cables connected to domestic appliances against overloads or small overcurrents. They may also be used in appropriate single-phase installations (for example, fused spur connection units). Available in a range of sizes from 1 Amp to 13 Amp. 3A fuses are color-coded red, 13A fuses are color-coded brown, and all other fuse ratings are colored black. Dimensions: 25.4mm (1 inch) long, 6.3mm (1/4 inch) diameter.
