UNI-T UT278C Series Ground Pile Clamp Earth Resistance Tester The UNI-T UT278C is a portable clamp-style instrument designed to simplify earth resistance testing on grounding rods, ground grids, and similar installations without needing to disconnect conductors. Encased in a rugged, double-insulated housing, the unit features a hinged jaw that opens to 68 mm, easily clamping around grounding electrodes or parallel conductors. Once clamped, the UT278C injects a small test current and measures the resulting voltage drop to calculate ground resistance, displaying results on a bright 2.4-inch color LCD. The large screen presents readings clearly and enables intuitive menu navigation, even in bright sunlight or dimly lit environments. Internally, the UT278C’s electronics employ fast-filtering algorithms to minimize interference from nearby live cables, ensuring stable values within one second of measurement.
