From Makers Electronics's description
UNI-T UT201+ Digital Clamp Meter The UNI-T UT201+ presents itself as a rugged, general-purpose clamp meter, built for users who need reliable electrical measurements in workshop, industrial, or residential settings. Its design is practical: a clamp jaw for non-invasive current measurement, input jacks for voltage/resistance/continuity/diode tests, a large display, and a rotary dial set in a plain but functional housing. The form factor is substantial but manageable, giving a sense of durability without being overly bulky. When switched on, the UT201+ serves as a multi-tool for electricians and technicians. The clamp jaw lets you measure AC current without disconnecting cables, while the test leads handle voltages, resistances, and diode/continuity checks. It also includes non-contact voltage detection (NCV) to sense live wiring without probes. The user interface is straightforward, and readings appear quickly. Functions such as data hold, auto power-off, and audible/visual alerts help keep the workflow efficient, especially when working under less-than-ideal lighting or cramped spaces. In real use, the UT201+ works well as a go-to meter for many tasks. From checking load on circuits to diagnosing faults in wiring, verifying whether a wire is live, or measuring resistance in components, it fills many roles. It doesn’t try to compete with high-end lab meters or specialized diagnostic analyzers, but for common electrical service, HVAC, or building maintenance tasks, it strikes a strong balance between functionality, durability, and ease of use. Over time, its consistency and built-in protection features make it reliable in varied field conditions. Features: True RMS measurement. Non-contact voltage detection (NCV) with audiovisual indication. Auto-range for many measurements. Data hold (freeze the reading). MAX / MIN recording mode. Large backlit LCD display. Auto power-off after period of inactivity. Overload, overcurrent and false detection protection. Fast frequency measurement in AC voltage/current modes.
