UNI-T UT312A Vibration Tester The UNI-T UT312A presents itself as a thoughtful blend of precision instrumentation and field-ready ergonomics. Housed in a slender, split-type enclosure, the tester separates its sensing head containing a high-sensitivity piezoelectric accelerometer from its display module via a short, flex-rated cable. This layout lets technicians position the compact sensor in tight or awkward locations on shafts, bearings, or curved surfaces while comfortably holding the controls and screen at arm’s length. At the heart of the display module lies a 2.4-inch full-view TFT color LCD that automatically reorients itself with gravity, ensuring that readouts remain upright whether the unit is held vertically, horizontally, or at an angle. Surrounding the screen, three rubber-tactile buttons offer intuitive access to power, measurement modes, and flashlight or screen-lock functions without obscuring the view or requiring menu diving. An integrated LED lamp, activated by a long press on the flashlight button, bathes poorly lit measurement points in bright, focused light eliminating the need for external illumination and speeding workflow in dim environments. UNI-T’s industrial designers encase the unit in a rugged plastic shell with gently chamfered corners and a stippled grip zone, balancing toughness against fatigue-resistant handling during extended inspections. The sensor head itself is machined to a low profile and may be equipped with either short or long probes (or, uniquely for the UT312A, a U-shaped magnetic mount) to accommodate flat, irregular, or hard-to-reach surfaces. Power is delivered via a 3.7 V/1350 mAh rechargeable lithium pack, accessed and topped up through a USB-C port. A discreet LED charge indicator glows red during charging and green at completion, while the unit’s firmware gracefully dims and shuts off the backlight after brief inactivity preserving battery life without sacrificing responsiveness when you return to the task at hand. Together, these design choices make the UT312A more than a mere readout instrument; it feels like an extension of the technician’s hand nimble, clear-eyed, and ready to tackle vibration diagnostics anywhere at any hour. Features: Split-type, ultra-compact design: Its sensor head and display module are connected by a flex-rated cable, letting you place the tiny accelerometer in awkward or confined spots while holding the controls comfortably at arm’s length. Automatically rotatable 2.4″ TFT color display: The screen stays upright no matter how you orient the unit—vertical, horizontal or tilted—so you never lose sight of your readings. Built-in LED flashlight: A long press on the flashlight button instantly illuminates dark measurement points, eliminating the need for a separate lamp in poor-lighting conditions. Multiple probe options: Includes short and long contact probes plus a U-shaped magnetic mount (UT312A-only) for stable measurements on flat, curved or hard-to-reach surfaces. Intuitive three-button interface: Dedicated power/measure, mode-select, and flashlight/lock-screen buttons keep operation straightforward—no deep menu navigation required. Data-hold & backlight lock: Instantly freeze the display with data-hold, and lock the backlight on or off to suit your workflow without distracting auto-dims. Screen-lock function: Temporarily fix the display orientation when you don’t want it to auto-rotate—useful for repetitive setups where consistent viewing angle matters. USB-C rechargeable battery system: Fast, universal charging via USB-C ensures you’re always ready to go, with on-screen battery-status indication so you know when to top up. Rugged, ergonomic housing: Textured grip zones, chamfered corners and a balanced weight make prolonged field inspections more comfortable and reduce hand fatigue.
