UNI-T UT681L Cable Tester The UT681L is a compact handheld cable tester designed to simplify verification of common network and telephone cabling. Built as a two-piece kit (transmitter and remote receiver), it provides a clear, at-a-glance readout using a set of LEDs and supports multiple test modes so technicians can quickly identify wiring faults. It’s intended for field use: lightweight, battery-powered, and focused on fast, repeatable checks rather than in-depth lab diagnostics. Operation centers on straightforward single-key controls and visual LED sequencing that indicate opens, shorts, and pair order problems. The unit includes auto- and manual-shutdown behavior to conserve battery, and low-battery detection so results aren’t misread under a weak supply. Its user flow emphasizes speed and clarity: connect, run the chosen scan, and interpret the LEDs a workflow tailored to installers, maintenance staff, and on-site troubleshooting. Mechanically the tester is small and durable enough for a technician’s pouch; the transmitter and receiver sizes and weights make it truly portable. While not intended as a full cable-certification instrument, the UT681L covers the practical needs of verifying RJ45 and RJ11 wiring integrity, giving quick confidence that cabling is correctly wired before deployment or repair. Features: Fast, slow and scan test modes for flexible checks. Full-display test mode with LED sequencing (LED1–LED8 + LED_G). Detects short circuits, open circuits, and crossover wiring. Single-key operation for quick one-hand use. Auto and manual shutdown to save battery life. Low-battery detection (threshold indicated in the datasheet). Supports testing shielded and unshielded Ethernet pairs (RJ45) and RJ11.
