NIDEC BETAV TA450DC Cooling Fan 12V 1.4A 120x120x38mm (USED LIKE NEW) The TA450DC is an imposing fan the size alone (about 120×120×38 mm) gives it a serious, industrial feel. Its frame is solid, and its blades appear thick and robust, crafted for resilience rather than whisper-quiet operation. There’s a sense of weight and engineering discipline: nothing frivolous, just design optimized to move air aggressively. The housing, while utilitarian, looks well molded with sufficient clearance and structure to support heavy duty rotation. When powered at its nominal 12-volt supply, the fan springs to life with force. The motor spins up rapidly, producing a strong rush of air that becomes very noticeable even from a distance. There is a loud whoosh together with a mechanical hum, especially when the fan is unrestrained (no obstruction). Under load or when pushing air through filters or enclosures, it delivers a blast of airflow that does not easily drop off. The fan does not try to be subtle its presence is immediately felt in both sound and airflow. Over time, the TA450DC shows durability. It’s built to endure: the bearings, the motor housing, and blade attachment feel like they can take sustained operation without degrading too fast. Even after long hours under heat and pressure (thermal stress, airflow resistance), it seems designed to maintain its speed and output. Its performance remains relatively steady less droop in RPM or airflow as the temperature or resistance rises. In environments where cooling is non-negotiable, this fan acts like a pillar: pushing hot air out, maintaining thermal balance, and reminding you that sometimes you need power rather than silence. Features: Precision double ball bearing (2-ball) design for stability and longer operational life. High speed rotation (~ 4000 RPM) to provide strong airflow. Four-wire (PWM) control interface plus a 5-pin connector for system integration. Thick frame (38 mm depth) to allow for more blade sweep and higher static pressure capability. Large blade surface area (120 × 120 mm) for maximizing air displacement.
