From Makers Electronics's description
UNI-T UT383 Mini Light Meter The UNI-T UT383 Mini Light Meter is a compact, hand-held instrument designed to assess illumination intensity in various environments. Its design emphasizes portability and ease of operation: a slim, ergonomic body, a clear display area, and responsive controls make it suitable for quick measurements in tight or variable lighting conditions. Users carrying it in a pocket or tool bag can readily deploy it when measuring ambient light levels. Inside, the UT383 employs a photoelectric sensor to convert light into an electrical signal, which is then processed and displayed as a quantitative value. The measurement loop is nearly instantaneous, allowing users to scan surfaces or zones efficiently. Despite its small form, it maintains sufficient robustness to be used on-site, whether indoors or outdoors, with a layout that balances simplicity and readability. In practice, this mini light meter acts as a go-to tool for architects, lighting designers, photographers, facility managers, or safety inspectors who need to verify that lighting levels meet desired standards. Its compactness does not compromise functionality: the UT383 serves as an accessible bridge between basic light estimation and more advanced photometric tools, enabling professionals to make quick decisions, adjustments, or document deviations in illumination levels on the fly. Features Auto range (automatically selects illumination range). Measurement in Lux or Foot-Candles (Fc). MAX / MIN reading capture. Data hold (freezes measurement). LCD backlight (for visibility in low light). Overload indication (LO/HI). Auto power-off to conserve battery. Low battery indicator.
