HC55185GCM INTERSIL VoIP Ringing SLIC Family IC PLCC-28 SMD (USED) The HC55185GCM is a high-voltage Ringing SLIC (Subscriber Line Interface Circuit) from Intersil’s RSLIC-VoIP family, offered in a 28-lead PLCC package. It integrates the analog front-end required to support POTS on short and medium loops, combining linear ringing amplification, DC loop feed and supervision, and hybrid/impedance synthesis into a single device. The chip is designed for systems that need high ringing amplitude (operation up to 100V) so subscriber loop lengths and ring audibility can be extended without large external circuitry. Internally the HC55185 family centralizes functions normally spread across many discretes: programmable loop current limits, ring-trip detection and filtering, battery switching (high/low), uncommitted switch for relays or test loads, and on-chip ring generation (balanced or unbalanced). The device emphasizes low standby power, reduced idle channel noise and robust off-hook detection behavior, making it suitable for remote subscriber units and access platforms where power and board space are constrained.
