IR2118 Single High Side Gate Driver 20V 420mA IC PDIP-8 The IR2118 is a rugged, single-channel high-side gate driver in an 8-pin PDIP package designed to drive N-channel MOSFETs or IGBTs in high-side/topology applications. It features a floating bootstrap channel that is fully operational to 600V, is tolerant to negative transient voltages, and includes dV/dt immunity and undervoltage lockout for safe gate drive under noisy switching conditions. The IR2118 provides a high-pulse current output stage (typical ≈250mA source / 500mA sink) for fast gate charging and discharging, and its input is implemented so the HO output is out of phase with the logic input (inverting behavior for IR2118). Ideal for half-bridge drivers, motor drives, SMPS, and other high-voltage switching applications. Features: The IR2118(S) is a high voltage, high speed power MOSFET and IGBT driver. Proprietary HVIC and latch immune CMOS technologies enable ruggedized monolithic construction. The logic input is compatible with standard CMOS outputs. The output driver features a high pulse current buffer stage designed for minimum cross-conduction. The floating channel can be used to drive an N-channel power MOSFET or IGBT in the high or low side configuration which operates up to 600 volts. CMOS Schmitt-triggered inputs with pull-down.
